11/7/2023 0 Comments Ventoy archMy concern is that Ventoy has to recognise what type of Linux it is dealing with and as such (like most other solutions except those using partnew) it will require constant 'keepy-uppy' changes whenever the kernel/initrd files change in a new distro. Ventoy is a new solution and does solve a few major issues which the 'partnew' technique has (contiguous-file and write-enabled non-GPT media needed). and with Ventoy the device can be write protected (for most functions). If we press F1 Memdisk then the grubfm_multiarch.iso is loaded to memoryĪnd then it allows to to boot Fedora, Ubuntu and Knoppix runtimelivecd.iso located on FAT32 Or NTFS Ventoy partition In case of FAT32 format for Ventoy drive, then all ISO from Ventoy menu FAIL to boot, so there is not a simple solution yet. (and even better would be FAT32 + NTFS partition) In fact FAT32 format instead of exFAT for Ventoy drive would be more Universal. The nice thing is that Knoppix runtimelivecd supports exFAT. Knoppix runtimelive cd that does not boot in UEFI mode from Ventoy Menu, is booting OK when launched from a1ive Grub2 File Manager. On booting a few Linux ISO files in Ventoy using a1ive Grub2 File Manager I noticed that Fedora and Ubuntu FAIL to boot, since they don't support exFAT FileSystem. I have used now grubfm_multiarch.iso and can confirm that it can be used in BIOS and in UEFI Secure mode in Ventoy for booting a1ive Grub2 File Manager. This guide will teach you the steps to use Ventoy to create a bootable USB to install Windows 11, 10, Linux, or another operating system from the same flash drive.A1ive/grub2-filemanager v7.1.0 has been released which contains a "Ventoy Compatible" multi-arch iso file. If a new version of the ISO becomes available, you can replace it or keep both versions of the image in the same bootable flash drive. While in this experience, you can choose the image you want to start the computer. When you insert the USB flash drive, the system will boot into the Ventoy software. Once the flash drive is bootable, you only have to upload the ISO (or WIM, IMG, VHDX, or EFI) files you want to use without extracting them. Ventoy is a piece of software that installs on a flash drive to make it bootable. Although these tools work as advertised, the problem is that you have to repeatedly reformat the drive to update the installation files or change the operating system. Alternatively, you can use the Rufus tool to perform the same task but with more customization options. Usually, when you have to perform a clean install of Windows 11 (or 10), you use the Media Creation Tool to create a bootable USB media. Ventoy is an application that makes it super simple to create a bootable USB flash drive of Windows 11 (and 10) without the need to reformat the removable storage, and in this guide, you will learn the steps to use it. You can now start a device with the Ventoy bootable USB and choose the installation you want to start. To create a multiboot USB, open Ventoy, select the USB flash drive, and click “Install.” Open the USB with Ventoy installed, and copy and paste the ISO files for Windows 11, 10, Linux, etc.
